Sunday Celebration

Our main service, about an hour

Meditation first at 10:00 AM

212 West Tinaja Avenue, Ajo

Music, prayer and a short talk, in person and online. Children 4 to 12 have their own room. Nobody is singled out.

An older man with a cane and a straw hat walking arm in arm with a woman out of the sun into the shade of an arcade.

10:30 all year. Ajo stays on Mountain Standard Time in every season, so our Sunday time never shifts.

Parking. A small lot beside the building, and plenty of room on the street.

Welcome

Faith with its eyes open.

Ajo is a town of about three thousand people, and we are a small part of it: a few dozen neighbors who meet on West Tinaja Avenue each Sunday to be still, to pray and to learn the Science of Mind®, a New Thought philosophy that brings religion and science together.

Bring your questions and sit wherever you like. Nobody here will ask you to join, stand up or give.

Your first Sunday

What a first visit is like, in plain words.

An older man with a walker and a young woman talking on the ramp outside the open front door of a whitewashed building, a palo verde beside them
Where do I park?
In the small lot beside the building, or on the street. There is plenty of street parking on West Tinaja Avenue.
Which door?
The front door on West Tinaja Avenue. It opens at 9:45 AM, and someone will be there to say good morning. A ramp leads up to it, so there are no steps to climb.
How long is it?
About an hour. The Sunday Celebration starts at 10:30 AM with music, then prayer and a short talk. Meditation at 10:00 AM is optional.
What about my children?
Children 4 to 12 have their own program, in their own room, during the Celebration. Younger ones are welcome to stay with you.
Is there coffee?
Yes. Coffee and conversation after, in the courtyard under the ramada. Stay five minutes or an hour.
Will I be singled out?
No. Nobody will ask you to stand, speak, join or give. Wear whatever you are comfortable in.

What the Palo Verde Knows

A tree that feeds through its own bark, in full sun, and what it teaches about drawing on the light we already stand in.

Why green? Palo verde, Arizona’s state tree since 1954, means “green stick”: its green bark makes food in the sun.

Learn together

Courses from Centers for Spiritual Living, taught here in small groups.

Foundations of the Science of Mind and Spirit

The suggested first class: six modules on the principles behind everything else we teach.

Visioning: A Way of Life

A practice of listening for what wants to unfold in your life. No prerequisites and no textbook.

Spiritual Living Circle

A small, welcoming discussion group that meets in a member’s home once a month.

Ask for prayer

Licensed Spiritual Practitioners (RScP) pray with anyone who asks, in confidence, after every Sunday Celebration and by appointment. They practice Spiritual Mind Treatment, a form of affirmative prayer, which Centers for Spiritual Living describes simply: “Affirmative Prayer is a prayer that declares a spiritual Truth.”

We believe in both prayer and modern medicine.
